Ponderosa pines in warm afternoon haze, with granite boulders, a mule deer grazing on the left and a bull elk on the right.

Lead AI Design Engineer in Fort Collins, Colorado

From idea to flagship. Also, somehow, a sardine cannery.

About

I'm a design engineer in Fort Collins, Colorado. I trained in visual communications and have built for the web since 2007. These days I lead and build AI applications and tools, mostly ones that didn't exist a year ago.

Currently

I'm a Product Lead Engineer at Johnson & Johnson, where I lead a product team and bring AI into how it designs and ships.

Selected work

  • American Can

I'm one of the founders of the company saving the historic American Can sardine cannery building in Eastport, Maine.

  • Clear Agent RE

My own product for real estate agents. It reads their contracts with an AI document pipeline and summarizes what each amendment changed.

  • EY

I co-led frontend architecture for a global platform and moved it to micro-frontends. I also built MCP servers and agents for the team.

  • USDA Forest Service

I was the UX lead on a design system used across the USDA Forest Service.

  • TownCloud

I was a founding architect and later returned as an equity holder. I helped design, build, and lead the teams behind an ERP platform that helps hundreds of small towns and cities across the U.S. run their day-to-day operations.
